Where high pressure is key to your application, soft flat gaskets and some spiral wound gaskets may not provide the strength and ‘sealability’ required. Solid metallic gaskets can be the most viable option, in the form of a camprofile gasket, solid metal ring gasket, or, where the flange design requires, a ring type joint.
Camprofile gaskets consist of a serrated metallic core, provided with or without support rings. These are generally provided with a soft facing made from graphite, PTFE or high temperature mica material.
These versatile gaskets are widely used in high temperature and high pressure applications and are a solid sealing option when working with fluctuating conditions, offering the strength of a metallic gasket with the sealing benefits of a soft cut product.
These solid seals are available to ASME (R, BX and RX types) and Norsok (IX type) standards, as well as to custom requirements. Though most commonly provided in soft iron or SS316, RTJs can also be custom made in a variety of specialist metallics, as well as soft coating options such as rubbers and PTFE.

Camprofile Element Only: A serrated sealing element to a specified outer dimension, inner dimension and thickness, Usually faced with a soft material to provide a required overall thickness.
Camprofile with Guide Ring: Serrated sealing element with a fixed or loose outer guide ring. These camprofile gaskets can be supplied to custom sizes or to standards including common ASME, DIN and EN specifications.
Ring Type Joints: Most often supplied to a standard specification with either octagonal or oval profiles, or standard sizes to BX, RX or IX standards. Cusotme sizes are also available.
