Metal jacketed gaskets, also known as clad gaskets, are widely used in heat exchanger applications. The jacket provides good stability and blow out resistance, while the filler forces the jacket to adapt to its environment, creating a strong seal.
We offer double jacketed gaskets, manufactured in house, in a wide variety of materials with varying grades of filler. These gaskets are offered as plain rings or with pass bars (ribs).
Though most commonly filled with graphite, these gaskets can also be filled with other soft materials such as PTFE, for chemical applications, compressed non-asbestos fiber, and high temperature millboard.
Jacketed gaskets can be made in one piece or with a welded construction, often dependent on size. Though most commonly supplied as rings, double jacketed gaskets can also be provided in specific shapes to your design.
