V-Seal Ltd are well known for manufacturing Spiral Wound Gaskets; these seals are manufactured quickly and often leave our premises the same day. Spiral Wound Gaskets have considerable mechanical strength and good recovery characteristics and provides an extremely effective seal over a wide range of operating conditions.

Technology

The Spiral Wound Gasket element is precision formed using a 'V' shaped metallic winding strip continually wound and incorporating an inner wound soft filler material ie: Graphite or PTFE. This construction helps maintain an effective seal at high fluctuating temperatures and pressures.

Installation

The outer rings rest on the flange bolts, thus locating the gasket centrally on the raised face of the flange. It also supports the sealing element and resists 'blow out'. The ring provides a 'stop' preventing over-compression of the sealing element.
